The Ukrainian concentration camp guard John Demjanjuk on Thursday was convicted of mass murders during World War II and sent to five years in prison. The Munich District Court has ruled that the 91-year-old was involved in the killing of at least 27,900 Jews in Sobibor.

Passover in Greece: Synagogue Burned

A fire broke out early Tuesday (3:30 local time) in the Jewish synagogue in the Greek island of Corfu. Four firefighting vehicles immediately rushed to the site and put the fire under control, but the fire burned antique books and other historical relics of great value (dating back more than 400 years ago), which the attackers had piled up and set ablaze in the center of the hall.
